Chemocare Balm gives cancer patients some relief.
March 1, 2018
What started off as a gift for a friend undergoing chemotherapy quickly transformed into a household name for other cancer patients.
Denise Lauzon is an aesthetician and the creator of Chemocare Balm, an all-natural barrier balm that may relieve and soothes dry skin during chemotherapy.
“This is a relentless issue,” she says, “patients develop ‘hand and foot syndrome,’ a condition that causes severely dry, irritated and peeling skin.”
Lauzon, who lives in St. Thomas Ontario, wanted to make a natural balm that contrasted from her competitors.
“Many popular barrier balms are made with parabens, petroleum jelly, mineral oils and synthetic ingredients that patients just don’t want to put on their skin when they’re going through chemotherapy,” she says.
